Venus Bathing, after Falconet's sculpture by Étienne-Maurice Falconet 1716–1791; Meissen porcelain figurine, Churfuerstliche Porcellain Fabrique, Meissen Marcolini period, 1774–1814, 18th/19th century, Saxony. Figurine of a young naked woman with long hair parted and arranged in a crown; she stands in contrapposto by a fluted column cut at thigh height on a square plinth, slightly leaning forward, supporting with her hands the fabric falling from her left thigh, heavily draped and falling down the back along the column; she takes a step as if descending from a plinth onto a flat four-sided base. Sculpture porcelain, height 25.4 cm; base 10 × 12 cm., A white marble-like statue of a nude female figure standing on a square base, depicted with a classical pose and curly hair, one arm resting on a fluted column while the other holds a draped cloth; the statue and base are set against a plain gray background with shades of light and darker gray, and the visible colors are white and gray.
