Vase with lid, Prószków Slaski faience factory 1763–1853. Classicist oval vase on a low hooped foot with a tall, domed lid. The rim is framed by a thick plastic laurel garland whose loops hang from the shorter sides to form flat handles; the lid handle is formed from vertically raised scrolls of the garland tied with a three-strand bow. Colorful floral decoration: festoons of small flowers tied with bows and bouquets including a rose, a blooming poppy bud and small flowers. Circa 1770–1783. Origin: Silesia Province of Silesia. Dimensions — vase: height 15.5 cm, width 27 cm, length 36 cm; lid: total height 19 cm, width 21.2 cm, length 30 cm., An oval ceramic lid with a braided handle and rim that appear textured like woven material, predominantly green with darker green shading and touches of black, set against a light gray background; the lid surface is white with a few floral painted decorations in shades of pink, purple, green, and a little orange and blue, and there are bands of pinkish magenta on the handle ends and rim accents.
