Teapot, Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique, Meissen c. 1730, 1710–1763, Meissen, Saxony. Teapot, slender, tall, chalice-shaped, without handles, height 7.1 cm, dia. 6.3 cm. Gilded with lace in red and yellow with metallic-violet fields Perlmutterluester. Features a miniature in a Rococo cartouche depicting a riverside landscape; back surface decorated with birds and insects. Maker: Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique, Meissen., A white porcelain cup with a flared rim and a gold interior edge, decorated with ornate scrolling borders in red and gold and a painted landscape scene on the front; the landscape shows a tree with green foliage, a river or body of blue water, a wooden bridge or fence, grassy banks in shades of green and brown, and a pale sky with soft blue and gray tones; the cup also has gold accents at the base and subtle purple decorative panels along the sides, all set against a neutral gray background.
