Tin-mounted tankard, Prószków Slaski faience factory 1763–1853. White cylindrical tankard in a pewter mount. On the front: an obese musician playing a double bass in vigorous movement, wearing a yellow jacket, purple pantaloons, and a lilac hat with a yellow brim. Floral sprigs on the sides. On the tin cover engraved CGH/1811. Late 18th century. Province of Silesia 1742–1918, Prószków Slaski. Vessel. Height 24.0 cm, width 15.0 cm, depth 9.5 cm., A tall ceramic stein with a hinged metal lid and base sits against a neutral background; the stein is primarily off-white with a smooth surface, a curved handle attached to the side, and a small painted floral decoration showing a few blue petals and green leaves; the metal lid, hinge, and base are a dull silver-gray with a slightly worn patina, and there are subtle darker gray shadows and highlights on the metal and white ceramic.
