Inkwell - figurine of a monk, Prószków Slaski faience factory; 1763–1853. Three-part inkwell in the form of a monk figurine: movable head stopper, body inkwell, and lower part sandbox. Painted colorfully; Capuchin habit painted brown; figure wears sandals on bare feet and holds a book. Engraved inscription Eidlbuss. Ca. 1800 18th/19th century. Province of Silesia; Silesia, Prószków Slaski. Inkwell. Height 18.5 cm, width 7.4 cm, depth 6.7 cm., The image shows three ceramic objects arranged against a light gray background: on the left is a small painted head and neck fragment with a pale skin tone, brown hair, a long brown beard, and subtle pink on the cheeks; in the center is the underside of a hollow ceramic piece with an off-white interior and a brown glazed outer edge with some chips; on the right is the bottom of a shallow dish with a weathered off-white surface and areas of brownish staining and faint green along the rim. Colors visible include gray, off-white, white, brown, pale pink, green, and beige.
