Identified as a vessel for collecting tears or for rubbing rouge?. 1807, Vienna, Austria. Toilet accessory. Height 3.5 cm; width 5.5 cm., A small white porcelain cup with a flared rim and a rounded base, decorated with painted floral motifs and ornamental panels; the rim and base feature a thin metallic-looking band in a warm gold color, and there are several vertical decorative panels in deep blue with gold lattice accents. Between the blue panels are painted brown urn shapes holding small bouquets with flowers in pink, purple, blue, and green leaves. The background is white and the overall palette includes white, gold, brown, deep blue, pink, purple, green, and a neutral gray backdrop.
