Double portraits of Luise von Mecklenburg-Strelitz 1776–1810 and Friedrich Friederike von Mecklenburg-Strelitz 1778–1841. On a flat rectangular base, two young women with their arms around each other in long, antique-style dresses made of thin fabric, draped under the bust Luise, wearing sandals, with curled, mid-length, center-parted hair. Luise puts her arm around her sister, resting her hand on her left shoulder; with her right lowered hand she supports the folds of her dress. Friederike embraces her sister from behind around the waist, her left hand grasping her sister's arm. Ca. 1795–1796, Berlin, Germany. Sculpture; height 55.0 cm, width 35 cm, depth 19.5 cm., A white marble sculpture of two women standing closely together on a rectangular base against a solid gray background, both wearing flowing draped garments with detailed folds and gathered fabric, one woman slightly in front holding a drape in her hand while the other rests an arm across her chest with her hand near her face; both have detailed hair, serene facial expressions, and exposed arms and feet, and the visible colors are white and shades of gray.
