Pelike-shaped vase in black with white rendered from a black background reliefs depicting: 1 Atia, mother of Emperor Augustus, Apollo and Neptune; 2 Hecuba wife of Priam with a torch in her hand, surrounded by Venus and Paris. At the bottom, Paris, lost in thought. 19th/20th century, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Vase; height 26.6 cm, width 19 cm., A round sculpted object with a carved profile of a person in relief on one face, shown against a plain gray background; the object is primarily white with several areas of black contrasting patches and details, the central medallion features the figure with draped garments and a head covering, surrounded by carved leaf-like shapes, and the piece rests on a translucent clear stand.
