Porcelain whipped-cream pot with squat belly and wide collar; volute, segmental handle gilded along the spine; on three legs shaped as lion’s paws. Body decorated with three oval/quadrangular reserves surrounded by a gilded frame with ovals of colorful Chinese latticework and purple-brick-red leaf motifs and Regency volutes—each reserve with colorful landscape miniatures by the water with staffage: 1 a barrel-wheeler and four men at the quay; 2 two men with cargo at the shore and a woman and three men standing nearby; 3 four men waiting with luggage and sailing boats at the shore. Between the miniatures, two brick-purple Regency compositions with gilding; lion’s paws and outer edge of the collar gilded. Saxony, Meissen, Germany., A white porcelain cup with a curved handle and three small clawed feet, decorated with gold trim and gold accents on the handle and feet, features an ornate framed scene painted on its side with a palette including blue, green, brown, purple, red, and pink; the scene shows a riverside with trees, figures, and a cloudy sky, and the surrounding decorative motifs include scrolling patterns and floral-like elements in gold, purple, and red against the white surface, all set on a neutral gray background.
