Vessel - cache-pot flowerpot in the shape of a cylindrical flowerpot with profiled rollers at the base and spout. Decorated throughout with a stylized, fleshy plant twig in the form of an acanthus with flowers. On the forehead is a cartouche with a five-field coat of arms beneath a royal crown. The elaborate cartouche is supported by two lions rampant, with a griffin holding a pennant. Below the coat of arms is the date 1747. Green plant decoration with ochre flowers, blue cartouche shades ranging from navy blue to light blue. A hole in the bottom for draining water. 1747. Italy, possibly Caltagirone. Height 74 cm, width 31 cm., A cylindrical ceramic object with a glossy off-white surface decorated with blue and green painted motifs, showing a central blue coat of arms flanked by two stylized creatures and topped with a crown, surrounded by flowing green acanthus-like leaves and scattered brownish spots and worn areas revealing a darker clay underneath, with a rounded rim and a molded base that shows chips and roughness; colors visible include off-white, blue, green, brown, and hints of tan.
