Platter, mid-19th century style referencing 18th-century France, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie ?. Oval platter with a four-leaf, wavy-edged collar. Painted in yellow with a genre scene and floral motifs. In the center, an arranged scene with a bawdy dwarf sitting on the grass, on the right, holding a hammer in his right hand. Opposite him stands a bird with spread wings, defending itself with its beak against the dwarf's blow. Remaining surface covered with plant motifs. On opposite edges are four leafy compositions, from two of which flowers and grasses grow. A more strongly marked part of the green ground for the dwarf and the bird. Around the edge is a triple yellow border. Vessel; height 3.0 cm, width 24.0 cm, depth 32.5 cm., A scalloped oval ceramic plate with a white base and mustard-yellow decorative painting, featuring a central scene of a seated childlike figure holding an object and a bird standing on the ground nearby, surrounded by stylized floral and foliate motifs and ornamental flourishes around the rim, all painted in the same mustard-yellow, set against a neutral gray background.
