Winter — Allegory. Meissen porcelain manufactory ca. 1710–1763. Seasons allegory: Winter. Figurine of an old naked, barefoot bearded man standing in contrapposto on a flat quadrangular pedestal, covered with a fur-lined cloak, with a horn thrown over his head and held in his left hand at hip level. He leans slightly and warms his right hand over a cauldron with a flame at his feet. Mid-18th century, Saxony; Meissen. Black; height 11.5 cm., A small figurine lies on its side against a neutral gray background and surface, showing a base with a smooth off-white color and a few dark blemishes, attached to a body with muted red and dark brown sections and a portion of white at the top, with overall colors including gray, off-white, red, brown, and a hint of black.
