Chair, chinoiserie, flowers, rosettes ornament, floral decoration, classicism style, chinoiserie. CHAIR with a padded seat covered with imitation black lacquer. Supported by four angular, tapering legs with glides, the rear legs arching outward. The seat is roughly square in shape, with high upholstery on springs. Openwork backrest with a top board arched along the back line. Decoration painted yellow, locally applied to an extruded base — on the frame and the top board of the backrest with plant and landscape motifs, and on the ankles above the legs with butterflies and rosettes. Garlands of small flowers adorn all surfaces of the backrest stiles. Flowers adorn the back of the backrest board and rear frame. The front frame of the backrest board is edged with a zigzag pattern; the slats frame the frame reserves; the edges of the frame and the bands forming the feet of the legs are painted gold. Seat upholstered in red synthetic fabric, finished with upholstery tape. Circa 1800, Italy, furniture, seating piece; height 86.5 cm, width 50.2 cm, depth 49.5 cm., A wooden chair with a curved rectangular backrest and slender legs, finished in dark brown and accented with lighter brown decorative inlays; the seat is upholstered in a yellow fabric patterned with floral and foliate designs in colors including blue, green, pink, and red; the chair frame shows painted or inlaid motifs in brown and gold tones along the backrest, legs, and apron; the background is a plain light gray.
