Chest of drawers, provenance revindicated, decorated with roses, classicism style, vedute, geometric ornament, dolphins, eagles, rosettes; ca. 1790; Saxony; piece of furniture, storage piece; height 97 cm, width 143 cm, depth 62 cm, A rectangular wooden panel with a central carved and inlaid scene depicting a stylized townscape set among rocky hills, featuring a group of towers, turrets, domed and pitched roofs, and a few tall trees; the scene is framed by a recessed rectangular border with corner blocks. The wood shows varied brown tones from light golden brown to deeper walnut brown with visible grain patterns and darker burnished lines used to define architectural details and landscape textures; there are a few small scratches and worn spots, and a lighter area where a roughly keyhole-shaped hole appears in the center of the rocky hill.
