Sweets plate by Johann Joachim Kaendler 1706–1775, modeled/manufactured by Königliche Porzellan-Fabrik Meissen Meissen, Saxony, co-creator Johann Friedrich Eberlein 1695–1749. Swan Service. Rectangular vessel on four volute legs, with shell handles on the shorter sides and the Brühl marital coat of arms. At the bottom a relief with swans, a crane and a heron; inner sides with shell relief, Indian flowers and gilded rim. Porcelain, 1740. Height 8.5 cm; width 31.0 cm; depth 20.4 cm., A group of ornate ceramic serving pieces arranged against a dark gray background including a large scalloped platter, a smaller scalloped dish, a lidded tureen, a rectangular footed bowl, and a decorative candlestick featuring a cherub figure; the ceramics are predominantly white with glossy surfaces and molded relief details, accented with gold trim and highlights, and with small painted floral motifs in colors like red, blue, green, and purple; the tureen has a sculpted finial showing a pair of small figures in white with subtle brown and black shading, and its body is decorated with applied floral and scroll ornaments in white and gold with touches of brown and black; the large platter and smaller dish have ribbed, scalloped edges with gold edging and raised relief scenes centered in their interiors; the rectangular bowl rests on curved gold-accented feet and has matching scalloped rim decoration; the candlestick base is elaborately molded with gold accents and the cherub is painted with pale skin tones and brown hair, holding part of the gilded candlestick; overall the composition emphasizes white porcelain formality with prominent gold detailing and small colorful floral accents.
