Chair, carved, reclaimed, volutes ornament, Renaissance style. CHAIR with a board seat and a high backrest composed of two boards with a wavy, openwork edge, supported by four straight, angular legs, the rear ones merging into slightly rearward-sloping backrest stiles. Legs fastened with casement binding with angular joints; front legs additionally joined at mid-height by a decorative board shaped analogously to the backrest boards carved with C- and S-shaped acanthus leaves, with single rectangular fields framed with inlaid veining. Side frames angular and narrow; front carved with a lower outline repeating the edge of the backrest boards and front legs. Seat edge profiled as a half-cylinder with a step. Finials of the side backrest frames in the form of a volute. Early 17th century; 4th quarter of the 19th century. Southern Germany ; Lombardy . Piece of furniture, seating piece. Height 121.5 cm; width 51 cm; depth 45.2 cm., A tall wooden chair with a high back featuring decorative cutout panels and turned finials at the top, finished in medium to dark brown tones with visible wood grain and some darker patches; the seat is flat wood in a similar brown, supported by straight square legs and stretchers showing signs of wear and varied brown hues; a decorative cutout panel is also set between the lower rails on the side, and the background is a smooth off-white to light gray.
