Bottle with lid, Gardner, Francis porcelain manufactory; 1766–1917 maker. Cubic bottle with a profiled short neck and square stopper. Plastic ornamentation on the edges, swan-shaped feet in the late Empire style. Gold-painted decoration with four genre scenes of Chinese people on the four sides. Floral ornament on the top of the bottle and stopper. Fragment of one paw missing; gilding abrasions. c. 1840, Russia. Vessel; height 18.5 cm, width 11.2 cm., A small decorative vessel with a square body and a fitted lid sits against a plain background; the object combines shiny gold metal with dark brown panels featuring gold-painted ornamental scenes, and it rests on ornate gold feet shaped like stylized animal heads; the lid and neck are rounded and polished gold, the body edges and decorative trim are gold with textured patterns, and the panels show gold botanical motifs and a standing figure next to a palm-like tree.
