Rectangular mahogany-veneered frame filled with patterned silk fabric, mounted on a pair of bipod supports. Posts and horizontal stiles are angular; the lower stile is an openwork brass strip with a wattle motif. Supports set in cubes are two arched, tapering angular legs ending in angular feet. Fabric stretched on an inner frame inserted from above into grooves of the side posts, enclosed by narrow slats; upper stile topped with a roller added during conservation replacing a non-original simy-profile strip. Brass rosettes on the sides of the shaft. Fabric: yellow plain-weave ground with a red satin pattern originally reversed color arrangement: central oval field with a vase on a pedestal framed by twigs; remaining field filled with small rosettes.
