Bottle, Montelupo ceramics centre; ca. 1400–, pottery workshop, spherical bottle narrowed at the top with a pressed rim, foot slightly widening at the base. White earthenware painted with cobalt of varying saturation, loosely scattered plant motifs resembling oak leaves, flowers, and acorns. On the front of the body, a coat of arms cartouche under a banderole no inscription. The blue-and-white leaf decoration shows Venetian influence. 2nd half 16th century, Italy; Montelupo. Vessel; height 24.5 cm, width 18.0 cm., A rounded ceramic vessel with a narrow neck and chipped rim sits against a plain gray background; its surface is off-white with a crackled texture and decorated with a floral and leafy pattern painted in shades of blue, with areas of darker blue brushwork and faint grayish-blue outlines, and some brownish stains and worn spots around the rim and base.
