Pedestal cabinet, single-leaf with a drawer at the top, supported by a prominent plinth; veneered with mahogany, with profiled, carved, gilded and painted cornices and applied decoration on the doors. The edges of the door leaf and drawer faces and the corresponding front edges of the walls are diagonally cut. The molding around the plinth is decorated with a dark green and gilded leaf ornament, the cornice under the top is decorated with rosettes set in a rhomboidal grid. The upper section of the door features a bas-relief woman's head, below it a lotus flower with a keyhole; on the drawer face is a gilded wooden handle in the shape of a mushroom. Originally four shelves inside. The drawer bottom is recessed from the back. A single-bolt, self-locking steel mortise-and-apply lock. Brass pintle hinges. Empire style, first quarter of the 19th century. Possible origin: Poland or Austria. Height 97.2 cm, width 33.5 cm, depth 35.2 cm., A tall rectangular wooden pedestal with a warm reddish-brown finish stands on a wider base; the base and the top edge feature a decorative band with raised ornamental motifs in a metallic gold color against a darker background. The front face of the pedestal shows a metallic gold decorative mask near the upper middle and a separate gold ornamental drop-shaped piece below it; a small round gold knob is visible near the top edge. The overall scene has a neutral light gray background and soft even lighting that highlights the wood grain and gold accents.
