Bookstand, origin unknown, Hebrew, Jerusalem Israel/Palestine; rectangular bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem Crosses. Under the central cross an ink inscription in Hebrew: ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges and can be widened by shifting the central part embedded in a groove to the right. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline; when unfolded on brass hinges they sit almost vertically with a slight inclination and are decorated with crosses on the outer surface. 19th/20th century, Jerusalem, hardware; height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A carved wooden stand with a smooth polished surface in warm brown tones and darker brown grain patterns, featuring a decorative raised cross-like carving on the front panel; the stand has rounded top edges and curved side cutouts, a flat rectangular base with visible wood joints, and a background in a muted gray color.
