Bookstand, origin unknown, Hebrew; rectangular wooden bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem crosses; under the central cross an ink Hebrew inscription ??????? Yerushalayim; main part has profiled edges and can be widened by shifting the central part embedded in a groove to the right; movable sides have a heart-shaped outline and unfold on brass hinges to an almost vertical, slightly inclined position, decorated with crosses on the outer surface; 19th/20th century, possibly Jerusalem; hardware; height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A wooden object lies flat against a gray background, showing a long rectangular base with raised edges and a carved decorative motif near the center. At each end of the base a curved vertical wooden support rises, attached with metal hinges that have a brass-like color. The wood has a warm brown tone with visible grain and varnished sheen, and there are areas of lighter and darker brown where the grain and wear show. The background is a uniform cool gray.
