Bookstand, origin unknown, Hebrew inscription, Jerusalem Israel/Palestine, iconography: Jerusalem cross, associated with pilgrimages. Rectangular bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem crosses. Under the central cross an ink Hebrew inscription reads ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges and can widen by sliding the central part embedded in a groove to the right. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline; when unfolded on brass hinges they stand nearly vertical with a slight inclination and are decorated with crosses on the outer surface. 19th–20th century, possibly Jerusalem; material: hardware; dimensions: height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A wooden object rests on a gray background, showing a flat rectangular base with a carved decorative motif near its center and a recessed rectangular opening toward one end; a pair of upright, curved wooden end pieces are attached at each short end with metal hinges, and the wood displays warm brown tones with visible grain and polished highlights alongside darker brown variations.
