Bookstand, origin unknown, Hebrew, Jerusalem Israel/Palestine. Rectangular bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem crosses. Under the central cross is an ink inscription in Hebrew: ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges and can be widened by shifting the central part embedded in a groove to the right. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline; when unfolded on brass hinges they sit almost vertically with a slight inclination and are decorated with crosses on the outer surface. 19th/20th century. Hardware. Height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A wooden object with a flat rectangular base and two upright curved end pieces, all in warm brown wood tones with visible grain and a polished finish, set against a uniform gray background; the base shows a carved decorative motif in the center and small metal hinge plates near the uprights, and the wood displays variations of lighter and darker brown.
