Bookstand, origin, Hebrew; Jerusalem cross iconography; used for pilgrimages. Rectangular bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem Crosses. Under the central cross is an ink inscription in Hebrew: ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges with a sliding central part in a groove to widen the stand. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline and unfold on brass hinges to an almost vertical position with slight inclination; outer surfaces decorated with crosses. 19th–20th century. Materials: hardware; height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A wooden object rests on a flat base against a gray background, showing a warm brown polished finish with visible grain and darker brown veining. The piece consists of a rectangular stepped base and a pair of raised, contoured panels with rounded edges and carved recessed patterns on their top surfaces. The wood has glossy highlights and subtle shadows that emphasize the carved details and smooth curves, and there are small areas of lighter and darker brown where the finish reflects light. The surrounding background is a uniform medium gray.
