Bookstand, origin unknown, Hebrew, Jerusalem Israel/Palestine; rectangular bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem Crosses. Under the central cross is an ink inscription in Hebrew: ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges and can widen by shifting the central part embedded in a groove to the right. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline; when unfolded on brass hinges they sit nearly vertical with a slight inclination and are decorated with crosses on the outer surface. 19th/20th century; hardware; height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A rectangular wooden panel with a warm brown color and visible wood grain, featuring a carved design of a group of rounded rectangular shapes with raised cross-like motifs repeated across them; the wood shows darker brown veining and a few blackish streaks, with carved grooves and recessed areas creating shadows of deeper brown; the panel has a framed border in a similar brown tone and the background behind the panel is a flat gray color.
