Bookstand, origin unknown, Hebrew, Jerusalem Israel/Palestine. Rectangular wooden bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem Crosses. Under the central cross is an ink inscription in Hebrew: ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges and can be widened by shifting the central part embedded in a groove to the right. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline; when unfolded on brass hinges they sit almost vertically with a slight inclination and are decorated with crosses on the outer surface. 19th/20th century. Materials: wood and brass hardware. Dimensions: height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A wooden object with a flat rectangular base and two vertical end supports, all in warm brown tones with visible wood grain and polished sheen; the end supports have rounded tops and curved inner profiles and feature carved decorative motifs on one visible side, while the base shows a carved motif near its center; a small brass-colored hinge plate is attached where one end support meets the base; the background is a smooth cool gray.
