Bookstand, creator unknown, origin unknown, Hebrew inscription, Jerusalem Israel/Palestine; rectangular wooden bookstand with two foldable sides, decorated with three recessed Jerusalem crosses. Under the central cross an ink Hebrew inscription: ??????? Yerushalayim. Main part has profiled edges and can widen by sliding the central part in a groove to the right. Movable sides have a heart-shaped outline; when unfolded on brass hinges they stand nearly vertical with slight inclination and are decorated with crosses on the outer surface. 19th–20th century. Materials: wood and brass hardware. Dimensions: height 12.6 cm, width 37.3 cm, depth 2.9 cm., A wooden stand with a flat rectangular base and two upright supports at each end is shown against a gray background; the wood has warm brown and amber tones with visible grain and polished surfaces, a few carved decorative motifs are visible on the base and one support, and a small metal hinge plate with a few round fasteners is attached where one support meets the base, with shadows beneath the piece and highlights on the curved edges.
