Openwork basket, Cmielów faience and porcelain factory; 1804- Openwork basket with an oval cross-section similar to a mandorla, walls formed by two layers of rollers rotating diagonally in two opposite directions. Top enclosed in a band of three rollers; bottom finished in a braided-rope motif. Interior bottom fitted with an oval plate. Surface decorated with a blue wallpaper pattern. Abrasions to the glaze and slight chipping on the edge of the walls. 1840–1860. Poland. Cmielów. Vessel. Height 6.5 cm; length 30.5 cm; width 18.5 cm., A woven oval basket-like piece with an open lattice structure made of rounded braided strands covered in a floral patterned material, showing a mix of white and light blue with small areas of beige discoloration, a cushioned inner base with the same white and blue floral pattern, and a pale gray background.
