Openwork basket, faience and porcelain, Cmielów factory est. 1804. Openwork, wallpaper-pattern surface. Basket with an oval mandorla-like cross-section and parted walls formed by two layers of diagonally rotating rollers in opposite directions; top enclosed in a band of three rollers, bottom finished in a braided-rope form. Inner bottom plastered with an oval plate. Surface decorated with a blue wallpaper pattern. Abrasions to glaze and slight chipping on wall edge. 1840–1860, Poland. Vessel; height 6.5 cm, length 30.5 cm, width 18.5 cm., A shallow woven basket with an open lattice of twisted bands displayed against a plain gray background, the basket showing a white base color with a delicate blue floral pattern across its surface and small areas of brownish discoloration, the rim slightly thicker and decorated with the same white and blue motif, the basket casting a soft reflection on the surface beneath it.
