Openwork basket, Cmielów faience and porcelain factory; 1804-. Openwork, wallpaper patterns. Basket with an oval cross-section similar to a mandorla with parted walls, formed by two layers of rollers rotating diagonally in two opposite directions. At the top, enclosed in a band of three rollers, at the bottom in a kind of braided rope. The bottom is plastered on the inside with an oval plate. The surface is decorated with a blue wallpaper pattern. Abrasions to the glaze and slight chipping on the edge of the walls. 1840–1860. Poland, Cmielów. Vessel; height 6.5 cm, length 30.5 cm, width 18.5 cm., A shallow oval basket with an open lattice structure made of twisted, interlacing bands, all covered in a blue and white floral pattern with small areas of brownish discoloration; the basket has a flat rim and base, a glossy finish, and is shown against a plain light gray background with a subtle reflection on the surface below it.
