Vase from the swan service, Koenigliche Porzellain Fabrique, Meissen 1710–1763; Eberlein, Johann Friedrich 1695–1749, sculptor; Kaendler, Johann Joachim 1706–1775, co-creator. Soup tureen; oval vase on four molded legs in the form of spits with a molded mask of a bearded man or a volute — a molded dolphin with raised body and tail two, on which the vase is supported. Two handles at the shorter edges in the form of fully modeled naked children — tritons with double decoratively crossed fish tails. Belly is knobbed and modeled with a shell motif in the lower part and a wave band in the upper part, with applied plastic flowers, polychrome-painted shells and seafood, and two oval shields in rocaille-mould cartouches bearing a marital coat of arms supported by heraldic lions with jewels. At the center of the base — a convex gilded shell oval. No cover. Date: 1737–1741. Place of origin: Meissen, Saxony. Vessel. Height 24.0 cm; width 34.0 cm., A decorative ceramic bowl rests against a gray background, predominantly white with glossy gold trim along the rim and gold accents throughout; the bowl is supported by ornate legs featuring a bearded male face in white and beige with gold highlights and two fish-like legs with gray, red, and black tones; the bowl body is embellished with sculpted floral and shell-like decorations in white, beige, brown, black, and touches of red, pink, and yellow; two small cherubic figures in white with brown hair sit on opposite sides of the bowl, each with subtle flesh-toned skin and rosy cheeks; additional ornamental details include curled acanthus-like forms and scrolls in white and gold, and small painted flower clusters in red, pink, and yellow.
