Armchair, Rococo style, floral decoration, cabriole legs, silk fabrics, patterned floral fabrics, upholstered seat, backrest, armrests, carved, white-lacquered and gilded. Cabriole legs, arched into the frame, cut out in a wave-like manner at the bottom; trapezoidal seat with a slightly bulging front frame. Disc-shaped backrest, nearly square, topped with an arch, with slightly concave side rails, straight in line with the sitter's back, slightly tilted with a clearance. Armrests end in a volute, on recessed, slightly S-shaped supports. Edges of all frame elements highlighted with a gilded half-cylinder. Central part of the front frame and upper part of the front legs feature carved floral decorations; ends of the armrests and the feet feature gilded acanthus leaves. Entire piece reupholstered with cream-colored silk fabric satin-weave ground, accented with colored silk and brocaded twill weave with silver thread; decorated with wreaths and alternating vertical garlands, with small floral sprigs in the background. 3rd quarter of the 18th century, France.
