Double-sided gingerbread mould, maker signed Glauer woodcarver or gingerbread maker, dated j.1827. Rectangle mould, height 29 cm, width 10.5 cm, depth 2.4 cm. One side: twelve small images of animals — two horses, two roosters, two crayfish, and two storks carrying babies in baskets — and two decorative pipes. Other side: miniature elements including children in swaddling blankets, shoes, footwraps, a cradle, a guitar, and additional motifs adorned with plant and geometric ornaments. Materials/genre: carved wooden form for gingerbread; folk motifs; zoomorphic and anthropomorphic figures; geometric and plant ornamentation. Silesia Province of Silesia, 1742–1918; dated 1826–1827., A vertical rectangular wooden panel carved with a repeating pattern of decorative relief motifs including stylized animals, birds, a horse, and abstract ornamental shapes, all in shades of brown; the background around the panel is a solid light gray.
