Double-sided gingerbread form. Obverse: image of a rider/trumpeter on a horse dressed in a decorative tail, wearing costume from turn of 18th–19th centuries long jerkin with wide tails, breeches and long boots, tricorn hat; floral decoration at the bottom. Reverse: four small images of human figures shown front and back — first figure male carrying a basket filled with children probably known in folk tradition as Kinderbringer, second female in a high headdress in country dress holding a handkerchief and a small basket. Gingerbread form, genre scenes, decorative art, folk motifs, riders, floral decorations, plant ornaments, trumpeters, figural scenes. 18th–19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Double-sided rectangular form; height 42 cm, width 25.5 cm, depth 2.8 cm., A rectangular wooden panel with a weathered brown surface showing a few cracks and worn areas, carved with a vertical column of a few shallow relief figures and ornamental shapes on the right side; the carvings include a stylized vase-like form, a standing figure wearing a dress and a headdress with decorative details, and a stout figure holding a basket with textured patterns, with an upside-down mirrored figure at the top; the background around the carvings is plain wood with visible grain in shades of brown and a neutral gray backdrop framing the panel.
