Double-sided gingerbread form. Obverse: image of a rider; reverse: four representations of human figures. Double-sided rectangular form; on one side an image of a trumpeter on a horse dressed in a decorative tail, in a costume from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries—long jerkin with wide tails, breeches and long boots, tricorn hat—with floral decoration at the bottom. Second side: four small images of human figures shown from front and back: first, male, carrying a basket filled with children probably the folk Kinderbringer; second, female in a high headdress and country dress, holding a handkerchief and a small basket. Gingerbread form; genre scenes, decorative folk motifs, riders, trumpeters, floral and plant ornaments. 18th–19th century, Province of Silesia 1742–1918. Height 42 cm, width 25.5 cm, depth 2.8 cm., A carved wooden panel depicting a figure riding a horse, both rendered in low relief with incised patterns; the rider wears a tall, decorated hat and a long garment with patterned trim and holds a long wind instrument to their mouth; the horse has a decorated bridle and patterned saddle and blanket, and both horse and rider are shown in profile; stylized plant motifs appear beneath the horse and along the lower edge; the wood shows a range of brown tones with some darker and lighter areas and a few small cracks, and the background is a neutral gray.
