Double-sided gingerbread mould. Obverse: figure of a bearded man in patterned clothes, richly decorated with geometric motifs, wearing a hat with a feather and blowing a horn French horn; plant ornament at the bottom. Reverse: several small elements including houses with tiled roofs, a cradle decorated with a flower motif, and a chest or bed decorated with a plant twig. Folk-style decorations, figurative scenes; geometric and plant ornaments; male figure; applied/decorative art. Double-sided rectangular form. 18th–19th century, Silesia Province, 1742–1918. Height 30 cm, width 13.8 cm, depth 2 cm., A vertical wooden panel with carved depressions showing a variety of decorative motifs and architectural forms, the wood ranging from medium brown to darker brown patches and a strip of rough, cracked dark brown bark along one side; near the top a carved band with ornate vertical panels and scrolling leaf patterns sits beside a shallow curved floral motif, while below there is a carved rectangular area with a repeated scalloped roof-like texture above a blocky façade of recessed rectangular panels and an arched central opening, and a narrow gabled house shape next to it; the surface shows tool marks, a few shallow curved incisions near the upper edge, a visible crack running from near the top toward the middle, and a lighter thin fissure extending from the lower carved buildings toward the bottom, all set against a neutral gray background.
