Double-sided gingerbread mold. Obverse: fish; reverse: baby in swaddling clothes. Gingerbread mold used for making gingerbread, folk-style decorations depicting children and geometric ornaments. Double-sided rectangular mold: one side shows a baby in swaddling clothes richly decorated with various geometric motifs; the other side shows a stylized elongated fish covered with scales. Applied/decorative folk art, Silesia Province of Silesia, 1742–1918, 18th–19th century. Mold; height 16.7 cm, width 7.8 cm, depth 3.4 cm., A rectangular wooden block with a carved fish shape on its top surface sits against a smooth background. The block is brown with visible wood grain and a few darker knots and worn areas. The carved fish shows textured scale details and a defined tail, all in the same brown wood color. The background is mostly grey with subtle variations in tone, creating a soft shadow beneath the block.
