The form's decoration is complemented by 52 small medallions containing images of animals mostly birds, and anthropomorphic, geometric, and plant motifs. 16th–17th century, type: utility item., A flat rectangular wooden panel with a dark brown surface rests on a light gray background; the panel's top is carved with a group of circular recessed medallions of various sizes, including several large circles and a few smaller ones filling the space, each containing low-relief designs; the panel edges show lighter brown wood where the finish is worn, and there are slight chips and variations in the wood tone along the sides; visible colors include dark brown, lighter brown, gray, and pale gray.
