Flat women's slippers of white satin, ca. 1836. Flat-cut toe, symmetrical thin leather soles. Endpaper and back of lining made of white glacé leather; front of lining white canvas. Endpaper bears an octagonal elongated company label printed in green with inscription: Józef Marczewski / in Warsaw / at Dluga Street / No. 543. Height 5.2 cm; length 23.5 cm., A single worn ballet slipper rests on a neutral grey background, showing a satin-like upper with visible creases and fraying along the edges, a softer fabric panel along the side, and a thin darker sole; the slipper displays shades of beige, cream, off-white, light tan, and a hint of brown on the sole, with subtle sheen on the satin areas and a slightly matte texture on the fabric panel.
