Flat women's slippers of white satin, top edge finished with ribbon. Flat-cut toes, symmetrical leather soles. Endpaper and back lining of white leather, front lining of canvas. On the endpaper of both slippers there is an octagonal, oblong company label: Jan Kólazenski / in Kalisz / at Market Square No. 18. Maker: Jan Kólazenski Kalisz; shoemaker's workshop; ca. 1830–ca. 1850. Materials: satin, leather, canvas. Type: women's footwear, slippers. Dimensions: height 6 cm, length 23.7 cm., A pair of worn ballet slippers photographed from above, showing the insides and toes; the slippers are made of a light, satin-like material with a slightly shiny texture and visible creases and folds; the left slipper appears more discolored and dirty than the right, with darker smudging and staining on the toe and sides, while the right slipper is cleaner with lighter soiling; the inner linings look soft and aged with uneven pigmentation and a few spots; a thin drawstring is visible at the vamp of each slipper; the overall color palette includes off-white, cream, beige, light tan, and areas of grayish dirt against a neutral light gray background.
