Slippers, origin unknown, haberdashery decorations; women's footwear, slippers. Lining of the upper and sole made of pink striped canvas. Illegible rectangular stamp on the lining. Machine sewing, supplemented by hand. Leather sole, semicircular under the heel, tapering sharply towards the toe to form a point. Under the heel, a second layer of leather is nailed with metal nails. 19th century, China. Height 5.3 cm, length 17 cm., A pair of worn slip-on shoes made of tan leather with darker brown scuffing and stains, one shoe positioned sole-up showing a dark brown worn sole with metal rivets around the heel, both shoes having black trim near the openings and areas of creasing and discoloration, set against a plain light gray background.
