Slippers, origin unknown, women's slippers, haberdashery decorations; lining of the upper and sole made of pink striped canvas with an illegible rectangular stamp on the lining. Machine sewing supplemented by hand. Leather sole, semicircular under the heel, tapering sharply toward a pointed toe. Under the heel a second leather layer is nailed with metal nails. 19th century, China; footwear, clothing; height 5.3 cm, length 17 cm., A pair of worn slip-on shoes viewed from the back sitting on a flat surface against a neutral backdrop; the shoes are primarily tan with darker brown and black accents along the top edges and soles, showing creases and textured patterns on the material, with scuffed and slightly dirty areas on the soles and lower sides, and the background and surface appear in shades of light gray.
