Obverse likely depicts a marriage proposal: a young lady seated in a park in a French-style dress assisted by a girl on a stone, surrounded by a boy playing a flute, a shepherd holding a lamb, a gardener, a gardener with a basket of fruit, a young man with a bouquet and a dog, a girl with an open birdcage, and a boy holding a small bird; Cupid holding a garland hovers above. Scene bordered by colorful floral ornament and gold Rococo motifs. Reverse shows a lone shepherdess wandering in a park landscape with edge decorated by a delicate blue Rococo ornament. In areas where the leaf is torn, elements cut from colored graphics are glued in: on the right, two caricatured male profiles; near the upper edge, a girl's silhouette in a landscape, bearded men holding a ribbon with a Chinese inscription, and a girl with a flowing shawl. Function: fashion accessory. Height: 28 cm., A large, dark maroon semicircular shape occupies most of the image against a light gray background, with the maroon area showing an irregular torn edge and the gray surrounding it on the top and right sides.
