Kontusz belt, Polish/Ukraine Volhynia? origin, mid-18th century. Men's clothing accessory. Silk with smooth heads, half-cut by a 1 cm wide line; smooth stripes separated by narrow stripes; along both sides a green trail 3 cm wide. Length 240 cm, width 42.5 cm., A pair of long rectangular fabric panels hangs side by side against a pale background, each panel showing a horizontal striped pattern with a dominant warm reddish-orange field transitioning to a muted brownish band near the lower portion; both panels have vertical border stripes in pale yellow and green with thin dark lines, and the fabric appears semi-sheer with a subtle grid texture. The lower edges of the panels show frayed hems with loose threads and small gathered corners, and there is a small pale patch near one lower edge. Visible colors include reddish-orange, brown, pale yellow, green, dark thin accent lines, and the pale neutral background.
