Right side: silver background, white ornament on heads and central part, navy blue borders; left side is the reverse. Unsigned; type associated with Istanbul/Constantinople belts—edge weaving and double-triangle motif characteristic of Armenian belts; making method similar to Constantinople examples; similar to a French or Gdodno belt with the same bush-and-flower motif. First half of the 18th century. Poland culture. National costume accessory. Length 268 cm; width 32 cm., A pair of long rectangular textile panels displayed side by side on a pale background, both panels showing an overall cream-colored ground with a repeating small-scale scalloped or scale-like pattern and narrow blue-gray decorative borders along their long edges, the left panel having a wider lower section with a band of blue-gray trim above a muted blue-gray rectangular panel that contains a row of stylized floral motifs in cream, while the right panel is more uniformly patterned from top to bottom and shows subtle variations in the cream tone and the same blue-gray edge trim.
