Velum, Velum made of white linen fabric with a rare plain weave 25 warp threads and 30 weft threads per 1 cm. Embroidered with gold thread on a silk backing with pierced stitches. Double-sided embroidery, equally careful on the right and left sides. Metal thread woven on thick silk thread. In the center, in a radial circle, the IHS monogram with a cross. In the field of the napkin, radial rosettes arranged in 6 rows, 7 in each, offset. Small stylized ornaments flower branches? in the border. 16th/17th century, Poland. Liturgical vestment. Height 66.5 cm, width 65 cm., A square cloth laid flat on a pale lilac-gray background, the fabric is an off-white or cream color with a subtle woven texture and slightly uneven edges. The cloth is decorated with a repeating motif of ornamental sun-like shapes in a light brown or tan thread, arranged in a regular grid across the surface, and a larger central sun motif with radiating rays in the same color. A narrow embroidered border of small floral or starlet motifs runs along the inner edge of the cloth, also stitched in light brown or tan. There are faint creases and small areas of discoloration on the fabric, and the corners are gently rounded.
