Cope, 19th century, Silesia. Embroidered liturgical vestment cope, height 102 cm, width 103 cm. The embroidered ornament has a continuous form and alternates between quite large flowers and feathery leaves. On the slightly shorter central edge, the ornamental band is doubled. Subject motifs: flowers, leaves, plant ornaments; function: church paraments/sacred art for churches and chapels; materials: decorative fabrics., A square fabric laid flat against a pale background showing a light beige or off-white color overall with an embroidered border in a slightly lighter cream tone; the embroidery forms a repeating leafy and spiral motif along two adjacent edges and part of the opposite edges, leaving a plain central area with visible fold lines and subtle creases; the fabric edges are slightly wavy and the surface shows faint variations in texture and shading.
