Background fond de gaze. 2nd half of the 19th century, Brussels, lace, width 8.5 cm, length 121 cm, A horizontal strip of ornate lace with an intricate floral and scrollwork pattern in off-white and cream tones set against a solid gray background; the lace features a scalloped upper edge with repeating circular flower motifs and leaf-like arches, a lower straight edge, a mesh-like netting infill, and a few raised embroidered floral clusters and decorative oval medallions, all rendered in pale ivory shades with subtle shadows and highlights.
