Background fond de gaze. 2nd half of the 19th century, Brussels; lace, width 8.5 cm, length 121 cm., A horizontal strip of intricately patterned lace with a scalloped top edge rests against a solid background; the lace is a creamy off-white color with floral and leaf motifs formed by raised threadwork and open netting, showing repeating rosette shapes, stylized leaves, and clusters of small embroidered flowers, while the background is a smooth muted gray.
